An (old) logo competition

Maui and Sons held this competition last year, and it is for a logo redesign!  Definitely going to create my own version- while I'm a little removed from being the laid-back surf enthusiast that is Maui and Sons customer X, I love the ideas and lifestyle the brand represents so this could be another fun way to get started.
