"I can't understand why people don't know this, it's 2014…This stuff is available, where's the public on this one?" says Ruby Wax in this video on Upworthy's website. She is of talking about neuroplasticity, which is a huge element in how the brain recovers from bad mental health and retains good mental health.
As science had proven, regular meditation is a driving force behind the kind of neuroplasticity that has positive benefits. "Every time they (brain neurones) wire together, you're laying down memory. But the good news is, you can unwire them, and create new habits and give yourself a more flexible, or happier, life. You're the architect of your own brain. It's called neuroplasticity." (Wax, 2014)
I haven't put a huge emphasis on the angle of neuroplasticity in the information in the app drafts, so this is an interesting find. The thought of "changing your brain" using mindfulness as the tool is a theme I could use to slant the information on.
